William Francis Jacobsen, of Warwick, NY and Ocala, Florida, died on
December 1, 2010 at the age of 85. Born on May 20, 1925 in Bergenfield, New Jersey, he was the son of Ferdinand J. and Susan (Mahoney) Jacobsen.
He was the widower of Lorraine M. (DuBois) Jacobsen, who died on July 29, 2010 after 61 years of marriage.
William was a graduate of Pace University, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 214 in Warwick. He was a retired Accountant for American Cyanamid, Wayne, NJ, where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.
He is survived by son, Donald W. Jacobsen and his wife Nancy of Warwick; son, Wayne Jacobsen of the state of Florida; daughter, Denise Dickten and her husband Vern of Warwick; two brothers: Ferdinand Jacobsen and his wife Janet of Bergenfield, NJ and Eugene Jacobsen and his wife Merillyn of Scottsdale, AZ; ten grandchildren: Cheryl Owens and her husband David, Jeffrey Jacobsen, Justine Jacobsen, Alycia Dooley and her husband Brian, Alanna Dickten, Christopher Meehan, Alyse, Corey, Lucas and Gillian Jacobsen, and three great-granddaughters: Brittany, Brooklynne and Bailey Owens. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Joan Finnegan and Ethyl DuBois, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters: Leona, Jane and Abigel.
The family will be receiving visitors at 1:30 pm on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm
