Barbara R. McKiernan, of Highland Lakes, NJ, (formerly of Brooklyn, NY) passed away at home on
June 16, 2013. She was 87 years old.
Born on September 23, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Theresa (Armbruster) Clear.
She was married to Francis V. McKiernan for 63 years.
A graduate of Girls High in Brooklyn, Barbara worked for Vaughn Seed Company in Manhattan before retiring. A homemaker, Barbara was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Highland Lakes, NJ.
She is survived by her husband, Francis of Highland Lakes, NJ; her children: Barbara Rodriguez and her husband Andrew of Hamburg, NJ, Kevin McKiernan and his wife Christine of Warwick, NY, and Theresa McKiernan of Warwick, NY; seven grandchildren: Marie, Daniel, Hugh, James, Bridget, Megan, and Sara; two great-grandchildren: Hugh Morgan and Caitlin ; and a brother, Thomas Clear of Brooklyn, NY.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 18th, from 3:00-7:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 185 Breakneck Road, Highland Lakes, NJ followed by interment in St. Stephens Cemetery, Warwick, NY.
