of Warwick, passed away on April 5, 2010 at The Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ. She was 64 years old.
Born on April 20, 1945 in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mildred (Esposito) Raccioppi.
She was married to William Burke.
A homemaker, Mrs. Burke was very active in the Guillain Barre Society in Orange and Northern Rockland Counties and was a volunteer with the Warwick Valley Humane Society.
A family statement reads: “Family was everything to Maureen and she was very active in the lives of her grandchildren. She could always make everyone laugh and offered support to us in all circumstances. She will be missed, but there is peace in knowing that she will no longer suffer.”
She is survived by her husband, William Burke of Warwick; her son, Chris Burke and Lolly of Warwick; her daughter, Kelly Rumler and her husband Dave of Monroe; six grandchildren: David, Sean, Jack, Chris, Alyssa and Taylor, and one great-grandchild, Anthony; a brother, Frank John Raccioppi of New York City; a cousin, Barbara Colucci of New York City.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Thursday at St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick, followed by interment in St. Stephens Cemetery.
