
James Herbert Nash, of Warwick, NY (formerly of Franklin, MA), passed away on February 12, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 85 years old.
Born on October 2, 1927 in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late James H. and Louise Caroline (Utzig) Nash.
He was married to Joyce (Holden) Nash .
James served proudly in the United States Military for 30 years, first with the US Army from 1946-47, then with the Air Force from 1950-1976, including Air Force Reserves.
A graduate of Northeastern University in Massachusetts, he was a teacher of ROTC at University of New Hampshire. An executive with Heath Consultants in Stoughton, MA, he was a member of the Republican Town Committee in Franklin, MA, and served as Chairman of the Planning Board in Franklin, MA, where he was honored by having a street named after him “Jim Nash Street”. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Franklin, MA.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Nash of Warwick; a daughter, Lucinda Henry and her husband Jim of Warwick; his grandson: Christian Henry and his wife Sarah of South Port, CT and their daughter, Evelyn Rose Henry; grandson, Jonathan Henry of Brooklyn; grandson, Alexander Henry of Warwick; granddaughter, Arianna Henry of Philadelphia, PA; a sister, Carolyne Bindel of Australia; and nephews: Ernest Bindel and Theodore Bindel.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 15th, from 7:00-9:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church, Warwick, followed by interment in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen.
