Joan Sue Schofield, of Warwick, NY, passed away on May 17, 2016. She was 82 years old.
Born on February 16, 1934 in Warwick, NY, she was the only child of the late Jacob F. and Mary (Tomer) Welch.
She was pre-deceased by her husband of 47 years, Harold W. (Jim) Schofield, Jr.
She is survived by her son Kevin Schofield and his wife Deborah of Port Jervis, NY; her son, Mark Schofield and his wife Kirsten of West Milford, NJ; grandchildren: Kevin Schofield and Hannah Grace Schofield; step-grandsons: David Drew, Jr. and Matthew Drew; and great-grandson Kevin, Jr.
A family statement said: “Our loving mother and grandmother was never happier than when working in her gardens or preparing family holiday gatherings. She easily made new friends and brightened the days of many at The Chelsea assisted living facility where she resided for the past year. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.”
Visitation will be on Friday, May 20th, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Warwick Cemetery.
