James J. Krauss

of Warwick (formerly of Bronx, NY), passed away on September 24, 2009 in New York City.  He was 59 years old.

 

Born on September 26, 1949 in New York, NY, he was the son of Joseph Carl and Florence (Benton) Krauss.

 

He was married to Eileen (Walsh) Krauss.

 

James was a Train Motorman with the New York City Transit Authority, and was a member of the Emerald Society for the Metropolitan Transit Authority.  An Army veteran of the Viet Nam War, he was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion, Nicholas Lesandro Post #214, Warwick, and the VFW, Warwick.  He was a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.

 

A family statement reads:   “Happy Birthday in Heaven!  We will love you and miss you forever.”

 

He is survived by his wife, Eileen Krauss, of Warwick; his sons:  Joseph W. Krauss and his wife Kristina of Goshen, James J. Krauss, Jr. and his wife Colleen of Matamoras, PA; a daughter, Jaclyn Mary Theresa Krauss and her companion Michael John Greer of Warwick;  his grandchildren:  Christian, James J. III, Kaylee Mackenzie, and Connor; a brother, Raymond Krauss of Pensicola, FL; a sister, Carol Collier Krauss of Bronx, NY.

 

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 27th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Monday, September 28th, at St. Stephens RC Church.  Private cremation.
