
Eugene M. Maloney, of Warwick, passed away on December 1, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. He was 86 years old.
Born on April 25, 1926 in New York, NY, he was the son of the late John S. and Margaret (Morrissey) Maloney.
He was the husband of Barbara (Yano) Maloney.
Eugene served with the US Navy during World War II.
A graduate of Regis High School, he played baseball and basketball, was inducted into the Hall of Fame, and was involved with the alumni association. He graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1949 and passed the bar at the age of 23 years. He was an attorney with Conway & Farrell, Curtin & Kelly, in New York City. He was a former Claims Attorney for Traveler’s for 33 years. He was an avid stick ball player at the age of 86 years with the league at Warwick Grove. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Church, Warwick.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of Warwick; his children: Sue Scarpulla and her husband Steve of Warwick, Barbara Fiore and her husband Dr. John Fiore, of Warwick, Thomas Maloney and his wife Robin of Cortlandt Manor, Bill Maloney his wife Joan of Rye; eleven grandchildren: Lisa, John, Tommy, Debbie, Peter, Stephen, Max, Russell, Dylan, Eleanor and Blair; four great-grandchildren: Ian, Chloe, Caroline and Jack; a brother, John R. Maloney of Nanuet. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Maloney and a sister, Joan Maloney.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 4th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at St. Stephen’s RC Church, followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
