
John W. Proctor, of Wurtsboro, NY passed away suddenly on September 5th, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. He was 58 years old.
Born on April 13, 1954 in Durham, NC, he was the son of and Helen Oakley Proctor and the late Albert Lee Proctor, Jr.
Johnny, his family nickname, lived most of his life in Warwick, NY. He worked at Genpak in Middletown, NY from the age of 19. He enjoyed hunting and bowling and served for several years as a volunteer fireman. He was a hard worker and always lent a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was the primary care giver to his mother until 2012 when she moved to an assisted living facility.
Johnny had a special relationship with the Oakley relatives in Pennsylvania and rarely missed an Oakley or Snyder reunion. He was a quite the jokester and loved his flannel shirts!
He is survived by his mother Helen O. Proctor of Gorham Maine, his sister Gail Mazzone and her husband Joe of Westbrook ME and his brother Joel Proctor and his wife Sandi of Brandywine, MD and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 7th, from 7:00 pm- 9:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, funeral services will be Saturday September 8th at 11:00 am at the Calvary Baptist Church 5 Wisner Rd. Warwick, NY, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery Warwick, NY.
