Born on August 30, 1923 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Josephine (Schaub) Stormes.
She was married to the late John T. O’Rourke (2009).
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Stephens RC Church.
A family statement reads: “A hardworking person, she would always do what was necessary to support her family. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and she loved to crochet.”
She is survived by her daughter, Maureen Hambrick and her husband James, of Monroe, NY; her sons: James J. O’Rourke and his wife Carla of Newport, RI,
Daniel J. O’Rourke and his wife Lynn of Saratoga Springs, NY, and John T. O’Rourke and his wife Deborah of Syracuse, NY; her grandchildren: James, Brian, Daniel, Charles, Jillian, Emily, Thomas, Megan and Sean; ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant son, John Michael O’Rourke and two brothers, Raymond Stormes and Ralph Stormes.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 17th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Friday at St. Stephens RC Church, followed by interment in St. Stephens Cemetery.
