Dorothy Claire Van Duynhoven, a lifelong resident of Warwick, passed away on June 13, 2011 at Schervier Pavilion. She was 86 years old.
Born on November 7, 1924 in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Bert W. and Anna M. (Vodsch) Van Riper.
She was the beloved wife of Jake Van Duynhoven.
Dorothy was a Clerk for 35 years with Lehigh & Hudson Railroad, Warwick. She was a member of the American Rhododendron Society, Tappan Zee Chapter, Skylands Botanical Garden, Ringwood, NJ, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Warwick, and she was a member of the Warwick United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jake Van Duynhoven; sister-in-laws: Mary Van Riper of Sea Girt, NJ, Magdeline Van Duynhoven of Warwick, Jacoba Pennings of Warwick and Ann Van Duynhoven of Warwick; a brother-in-law, Joe Van Duynhoven and his wife Corry of Warwick; a niece, Martha Ann Tamburo of Newburgh; many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert W. Van Riper and Walter S. Van Riper.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 16th, from 2:00-4:00 pm only at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, June 17th, at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
