Joseph C. Boccia, of Warwick, NY and formerly of Brooklyn, NY passed away of January 11, 2017.  He was 56 years old.

Born on July 16, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Michael R. Boccia, Sr. and Jennie Dolores Trentacosta Boccia.

A retired New York City Firefighter, Rescue Squad #41, he played football for the FDNY and for the Brooklyn Mariners after his graduation from New Utrecht High School.  He coached little league and high school football.  A graduate of NY Restaurant School, he was co-owner of Fratello’s Restaurant in Warwick.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheyenne Boccia of Warwick; his son, Joseph Boccia of Warwick;  and mother of his children, Lorraine Boccia, of Warwick;  his brothers:  Michael R. Boccia, Jr. of Poughquag, NY and Thomas Boccia of  Poughkeepsie.                              .

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 15, from 2:00-6:00 pm, and Monday, January 16, from 2:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 17, at St. Stephen RC Church, Warwick, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
