(Carr), 77 years old, of Montgomery, passed away on October 8, 2007 at Arden Hill Hospital with her family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
A daughter of the late Pearl and Cleo Carr, she was born on November 29, 1929 in Williamsburg, Ohio.
She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Hiller (1988).
A family statement reads: “Our mother was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a friend to many. She will be sadly missed by all.”
Mrs. Hiller was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. She was a retired Secretary for the Department of Social Services for the City of New York. She was a member and past treasurer of the New Milford-Edenville United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Society.
She is survived by her three daughters: Lydia Graeber and her husband James of Warwick, Karen Miller and her husband Paul of Warwick, and Kitti Cody and her husband Terry of Walden; her grandchildren: Amanda Tormey, Philipp, Matt, Sarah and Emily Diefenbach, Danielle, Nicole and Thomas Cody, Jared and Ashley Miller; great-grandchildren: Alexia and Nathan Tormey and Nicholas and Julia Diefenbach; a sister, Betty Rice; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jacqueline Diefenbach, a sister, Doris Jordan and a brother, Jack Carr.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 10th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral service will be at 10am on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
