
John Thomas Sloma of Warwick, N.Y. passed away on October 7, 2021 at Garnet Hospital, Wallkill, N.Y. after a 3 year and 11 month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 75 years old.
Born in Orange, N.J. on January 1, 1946, he was the son of John and Josephine (born Golienbowski) Sloma. After earning a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University in 1980, he was employed at the Newburgh Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, a satellite clinic affiliated with NYS Middletown Psychiatric Center.
He earned a degree in Psychoanalysis in June, 2012. Before that he had been practicing psychoanalytic psychotherapy privately in various offices throughout New York and New Jersey. He officially retired in March, 2021.
John is survived by his wife, Robin, of 38 years (October 6, 1983) (born Melasky); sons, Daniel and Alex; brother, Donald and his wife Jennifer of Olympia, Washington; niece and nephew Olivia and Adam.
