Laura A. Christen, of Warwick, (formerly of Montvale, NJ), passed away on July 4, 2015 at St. Anthony Community Hospital. She was 81 years old.
Born on March 10, 1934 in New York, NY and raised in Bergenfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Pistocchi) De Rosa. She was a graduate of St. Cecilia High School in Englewood, NJ.
She was married in 1957 to Andrew C. Christen, also of Bergenfield, NJ.
Before retiring Laura was the Office Manager with Structural Steel Company in Upper Saddle River, NJ. She was a member of St. Stephen RC Church Warwick.
A family statement reads: “Laura was a very classy lady. She loved cooking, playing golf, travel, the Mets, and was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed playing cards, loved the beach and traveled to Palm Springs for many years. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren, and they will miss her deeply.”
She is survived by her husband, Andrew C. Christen; her son, Andrew R. Christen and his wife Mary of Warwick; her daughter, Linda Christen of Laguna Hills, CA; son-in-law Richard Neufeld; her grandchildren: Patrick, Alex, Clair, Anna and Richard; her sister Rose Ann Tripaldi of Hillsdale, NJ; her brother, Robert De Rosa of Montvale, NJ. She was predeceased by a daughter, Laura Christen.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 7th, from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Private cremation. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, July 27, 2015 at St Stephen RC Church.
