
of Warwick, passed away on June 21, 2009 on the 62nd anniversary of her marriage to Richard J. O’Neill. She was 88 years old.
Born on May 15, 1921 in Ossining, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. Kirkpatrick and Maude Frances Herrick Kirkpatrick.
A graduate of Cortland College, she earned her Master’s degree from NYU. Mrs. O’Neill was a retired Physical Education teacher from the Warwick schools, where she was the first president of the Warwick Teacher’s Association. She was a member of St. Stephen’s RC Church, a member of the Catholic Daughter’s of America, past member of Warwick Recreation Committee and assistant Girl Scout leader.
She is survived by her children: Dennis and his wife Cherrie of Tucson, AZ, Judy and her husband Vince Romanczyk of Warwick, John and his wife Cindy of Warwick, and Michael, her longtime caregiver, of Warwick; four grandchildren: Amy O”Neill Phillips and Christopher O’Neill of Tucson, AZ, Paul Romanczyk and Brian Romanczyk, of Warwick; a sister, Mary Frances Baker of Gainesville, GA; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard J. O’Neill and a brother, Edward H. Kirkpatrick.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 24th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave, Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10am on Thursday at St. Stephens RC Church. Interment will follow in St. Stephens Cemetery.
