Irene Dorothea Voorhis, of Warwick, passed away on November 9, 2013 at Westchester Medical Center.  She was 80 years old.

Born on July 18, 1933 in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late

Erich O. and Dorothy E. (Weiss) Meyer.

She was married to the late Allan A. Voorhis.

Irene was retired as a Driver for Operation Wheels Ecumenical Council in Warwick.  She also was a Bus Driver with Warwick Valley Schools.  Irene was an active member of the Democratic Party and had served as Treasurer and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Warwick.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Jean Orr and her husband James III of Howells, NY;   a son, Eric Arthur Voorhis and his wife Mia of Gulfport, FL;

six grandchildren:  James D. Orr IV, Eric A Voorhis, Jr., Thomas M. Orr,

Dillon D. Voorhis, Ashley H. Voorhis and Nichole B. Voorhis; a sister, Barbara U. Weller of Highland Lakes, NJ;  a brother-in-law, Art Voorhis and his wife Joanne of Woodshole, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her companion, William Ted Fitzhenry,  and a brother-in-law, Eberhard Weller.
