Deborah Anne Spain

Deborah Anne Spain, of Warwick, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family  on September 25, 2015.  She was 51 years old. 

Born on October 22, 1963 in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of Rita J. (Barron) Simone and the late Joseph Barney Simone.

She was married to Matthew P. Spain.

Deborah was a Vice President in retail with Redcats USA in New York City and Boston, MA.  A member of St. Stephen Church in Warwick, she was active in the church, school and community.  She was also a member of the Warwick Valley Country Club. 

A family statement reads:  “Deb's house was always open to all, she loved to entertain.  Deb could whip up a gourmet dinner with just a few simple ingredients.  Holiday gatherings were some of her favorite events, filled with love for family and friends, and of course Deb’s infectious laugh.”  

Deborah is survived by her husband, Matthew P. Spain; her mother, Rita J. Simone; her children:  Darius J. (Darry) Spain, Rita R. Spain, and  Thomas M. Spain, all at home; her sisters:  Michele M. Callaghan of Longmeadow, MA and  Laura A. Callaghan and her husband Daniel of Warwick; her brothers:  Joseph B. Simone of Galloway, NJ and Christopher J. Simone of Weston, CT.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 29th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.  Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday at Church of Assumption, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport, CT, followed by interment in Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main St., Westport, CT.
