Thomas A. Corbo
01/07/2018

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Thomas (Tom) Corbo at the age of 81 on January 7, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.

Thomas was born on June 14, 1936 in Harlem, New York to Elizabeth and Bruno Corbo. He grew up in Harlem with his loving brothers and sister George, Bruno and Katherine. He met the love of his life, Dorothy at the age of 16. They were married on July 31, 1960 and shared a 65 year romance that gave life to three beautiful children, seven grandchildren and a great grandchild on the way.

Thomas was a self-taught master of many trades. There was no job too big for him and he worked effortlessly to provide for his family. His career began in the painters’ union, where his passion for woodworking evolved. Tom owned and operated a decorating business, a carpentry business, and even his own Surf and Turf restaurant. His spare time was spent in his wood shop creating beautiful masterpieces and keepsakes for his family. He was ambitious and accomplished anything he put his mind to.

Thomas is survived by his wife Dorothy Corbo, brother Bruno Corbo, sister-in-law Alice Corbo, children Danny Corbo, Cheryl Corbo, and Dawn Kettenring, daughter-in-law Lorna Corbo, and grandchildren Lana Corbo, Daniel Corbo, Vincent Corbo, Kiersten Pascucci, Kelly Santiago and her husband John Santiago, Kristen Tenorio and her husband Max Tenorio, Kaelyn Kettenring; as well as countless family and friends whom he cherished with all his heart.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 11, from 4-7 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick, NY. Funeral mass will be on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at  St. Stephen’s RC Church, 75 Sandfordville Rd, Warwick, followed by interment at St. Stephen's Cemetery.
