Lenore M. Burns

Lenore M. Burns, of Greenwood Lake, passed away on June 27, 2017 after a long courageous battle against cancer.  She was 79 years old.

Born on December 18, 1937 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Horan) Geil.

She was married to the late Richard J. Burns.

Before retiring, Lenore was employed at Stroock, Stroock & Lavan law firm in Manhattan.  Lenore had a great love for her country and loved her home in Greenwood Lake.  She also had a great love for animals.

She is survived by her daughters:  Lynn Avenatti and her husband Louis of Vernon, NJ and Rita Jennings and her husband Thomas of Putnam Valley, NY; her brother, Martin Geil and his wife Sharon; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
