Marian T. Leute
07/01/2008

of Florida, NY(formerly of Bellmore, Long Island), passed away peacefully on July 1, 2008 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, NJ.  She was 80 years old.

Born on October 19, 1927 in New York City, she was the daughter of George and Mary (Murray) Donnegan.

She was married to the late Robert E. Leute (2007).

“Our mother’s whole life was her family.  Her children always knew that they were the most important thing to her and she was always there for us throughout our growing years to comfort  and guide us.  She was always there for us when we came home from school to help us study and to listen to our problems.  We always knew we could come to her and cry on her shoulder as she always knew  the right thing to say to calm us and ease our pain.  She had a loving and very close relationship with our father and their main goal in life was to keep their children safe and raise us to be kind, loving and thoughtful people.  She was an avid movie fan and loved the old classics.  She constantly increased her knowledge by watching documentaries and other history related programs.  She was the Trivial Pursuit queen especially with the silver screen edition.  Her grandson Brian always called her the ultimate guesser as she always seemed to know the answer even when she was guessing.  This world has lost a wonderful person and we will miss her very much, but she can now walk hand in hand with her soulmate, our father.  May she rest in peace.”

She is survived by her three daughters:  Barbara Leary and her husband Greg of Warwick, Cora Giraud and her husband Richard of Hazlet, NJ, and Gail Miller and her husband Rick of Tinton Falls, NJ.  She is also survived by her loving grandchildren:  Brian, Colleen, Patrick, Lauren and Hayley.

Memorial visitation will be on Saturday, July 5, from 1:00-2:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm.

Memorial donations may be sent to North Shore Animal League, 25 Davis Ave., Port Washington, NY  11050.
