
of Warwick (formerly of Yorktown Heights), passed away on
August 29, 2010 at Westchester Medical Center. She was 79 years old.
Born on April 15, 1931 in Flushing, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Catherine (Mitchell) O’Donnell.
She was married for 58 years to Robert Checola.
A homemaker, Kathleen was a member of St. Stephens RC Church.
A family statement reads: “She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived her life to the fullest and will be deeply missed.”
She is survived by her husband Robert, of Warwick; her children: Robert Checola and partner Carlos Rodriguez of Kew Gardens, Patricia Godfrey and her husband Charles of Shrewsbury, MA, Susan Mastromatteo of Warwick, Linda Checola of Worcester, MA and Karen McDonald and her husband Edward of Arlington, MA; 13 grandchildren: Tommy, Amy, Jackie, MaryAnne, Nicole, Katherine, Kristin, Caroline, Chris, Eddie, Casey, Erin and James; 1.9 great-grandchildren: Nathan and expected; and a brother, Thomas O’Donnell of NC.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 3:00-6:00 pm, at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Thursday at St. Stephens RC Church. Private cremation.
