John J. Peterson, of Greenwood Lake, NY, passed away on July 13, 2015 at home. He was 56 years old.
Born on January 17, 1959 in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Emil and Lillian (Hull) Peterson.
He was married to Jennifer (Koenig) Peterson.
John was an Insurance Adjustor with Amica Mutual Insurance Company, Park Ridge, NJ. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Warwick, where he was a member of the Praise Team and ran the sound system for many years. He loved music, playing the guitar, and also working on cars. He loved his dog, Frodo.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his brothers and sister: Lawrence Peterson of Pinellas Park, FL, Carolyn Lindeman of Rock Tavern, NY, and Daniel J. Peterson of Red Hook, NY. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Peterson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Karen Wolownik (also his godchild) of Monroe, Bob Lindeman of Rock Tavern, Jim Lindeman of Goshen, Sue McVey of Rock Tavern, Dan Peterson of Saugerties, Natalie Fores of Stuyvesant, Debbie Peterson of Saugerties, Matthew Peterson of Catskill, Larry Peterson of Pinellas Park, FL, Mary Gambrell of Pinellas Park, FL, Billy Peterson of Pinellas Park, FL, Mathieu Nieves of New York City, Anna Nieves of Tucson, AZ, Lauren Fierman of Effort, PA, and Eric Fierman, of Effort, PA; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 16, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral service will be at 3:30 pm on Friday at Calvary Baptist Church, Warwick. Cremation will be private.
