Norman J. Linton

Norman J. Linton, a lifelong resident of Warwick), passed away on April 13, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Hospital.  He was 83 years old.

Born on February 6, 1929 in Warwick, he was the son of the late Allan and Lenora (Keegan) Linton.

He was married to the late Irene E. (Weeden) Linton.

Mr. Linton served with the US Army Air Force during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post #214, Warwick.  He was a Foreman with Orange & Rockland Utilities, Monroe prior to retiring.  He was a member of Warwick United Methodist Church and a former member of Goshen Gremlin Radio Control Club.

For those who had the opportunity to meet him, they would have shared a smile and a laugh, almost instantly.

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Oates and her husband William of Warwick; a son, James Linton and his wife Carole of Warwick; four grandchildren:  Jennifer Heinen, Kelly Stroppel, Sara Humphrey and Stephanie Woodruff;  six great-grandchildren:  Joseph, Jacob, Jillian, Aiden, Adelia and Lucas;  two brothers:  Stan Linton of Warwick and Donald Linton of Summitville;  four step-grandchildren:  Carol Ann, Billie Marie, Willy & Tammy.  He was preceded in death by brothers Kenneth and Elwood, and a sister Helen Barlow.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 17th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home,17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to American Legion Post #214,
