Born on April 16, 1925 in Friesland, The Netherlands, he was the son of Jerry Bakker and Dorothy De Vries Bakker.
He was the husband of Janice Farman Bakker for 36 years.
Mr. Bakker was a Bus Driver for 36 years with Short Line Bus Company, Mahwah, NJ. He grew up in the Goshen Christian Reformed Church.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Bakker of Warwick; his children: Jerry Bakker and his wife Maryann of Goshen, Theresa Tencate and her husband Bernie of Tecumseh, MI, Henry (Hank) Bakker and his wife Eileen of Sloatsburg, Charles Bakker and his wife Donna of Bridgewater, NJ, and Gary Bakker and his wife Margaret of Sloatsburg; 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Dolores Cogswell of AK; a stepson, Larry Bishop of Oakland, PA; a sister, Helen Vanderwey of Newton.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 19, from 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Florida Cemetery, Florida, NY.
