Edward Van Der Molen, of Middletown, passed away on May 12, 2015 at home. He was 57 years old.
Born on March 8, 1958 in Middletown, he was the son of John Van Der Molen, Sr. and Grace Roskam Van Der Molen.
Ed was married to Betsy (Byma) Van Der Molen.
Ed was a Transportation Engineer Specialist with ABF Freight Systems in Montgomery.
A lifelong member of Goshen Christian Reformed Church, he served as a Deacon and an Elder, as well as a Youth Leader for many years. He was a former board member of the Goshen Christian School.
Known as “Uncle Eddie” to many, he was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Stewart and the girls on 2 North of ORMC for their special care and attention during his illness.
He is survived by his loving wife Betsy, of Middletown; his children: Eric Van Der Molen and his wife Hillary of Newburgh, Adam Van Der Molen and his wife Jena of Wichita, Kansas, and Lindsey Scaturro and her husband Christopher of Montgomery. He was the loving “Pake” to Ella Claire and Abigail Leigh. He is also survived by his parents, John, Sr. and Grace Van Der Molen; brothers, John Van Der Molen, Jr. of Goshen, Kenneth Van Der Molen and his wife Dawn of New Hampton, and Roger Van Der Molen and his wife Vickie of Montgomery.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 14th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Goshen Christian Reformed Church, 2440 Route 17A, Goshen, NY. A celebration of Eddie’s life will be at 11:00 am on Friday, May 15th, at the church.
Memorial donations may be sent to Goshen Christian Reformed Church or the Goshen Christian Pre-School.
