Jacqueline A. Farina
10/02/2007

a longtime resident of Warwick, after moving here from Queens Village, died on October 2, 2007 at home.  She was 82 years old.

Born on November 17, 1924 in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Andree La Blanc Klein.

Jacqueline was a retired Registered Nurse and worked for Mid Orange Correctional Facility for many years.  She was a member of St. Stephen’s Church, Warwick.

A family statement read: “She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.  Mother, we will miss your good humor, laughter, kindness, generosity, and most of all, we will miss you.  Your time has come to be elusive like the butterflies you have always admired.”  She wanted her family and friends to remember this poem as though it were her own:  “When I am gone, just release me, let me go, so I can move into my afterglow. You must not tie me down with your tears; let’s be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love and you can only guess how much you gave me happiness.  I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it’s time I must travel on alone. So grieve for me a while if you must. Then let your grief be comforted with trust.  It’s only for a while that we must part.  So bless the memories within your heart.  Then, when you must come this way, I will greet you with a smile and a “Welcome Home.”

She is survived by her four daughters:  Roura Farina of Warwick, Barbara Mann and her husband Wayne of northern New Jersey, Susan Seabrook and her husband Norman of Bronx, NY, and Kathleen Farina and her significant other, Lisa, of Greenwood Lake; five grandchildren:  Candice Melvin, Christopher Mann, Michael Mann, Jenna Seabrook, and Tiffany Seabrook; four great-grandchildren: Tamara, Tia, Anthony and Mia.

She was predeceased by husband, Jack Farina and brother Robert Klein.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 4th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick.  Funeral mass will be at 10am on Friday at St. Stephens RC Church.  Interment will follow in St. Stephens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
