Eileen M. McKenna of Warwick, NY passed away on April 26, 2020 at home with her loving family by her side. She was 88 years old.

Born in Washington Heights, NY, on January 25, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Catherine (Walsh) and Patrick McKeon. Married to (now deceased) Patrick McKenna.

Eileen worked as a Registered Nurse her entire career, originally as an emergency room nurse before children and then became a school nurse for the Ringwood, NJ Central School District, which enabled her the ability to work and raise 5 children during her career. She also returned to college to complete her Bachelors of Nursing degree at this time. She was a very dynamic woman who loved sports. As a teenager, she played high school basketball, winning many awards at Cathedral H.S. in Manhattan, NY. As an adult, she was an avid golfer. She played in many leagues in Pennsylvania where she lived before moving to Warwick to be closer to her children. She also loved swimming, skiing, travelling and reading.

As a couple they had a wonderful life together and loved their Irish heritage. They met ceili dancing at the Gaelic League in NYC.  The children and grandchildren inherited this love of the Irish culture, participating in the bagpipe band or Irish step dancing or singing. Eileen and Patrick will be sorely missed.

Eileen is survived by her children: Maureen Brady and her significant other, Craig Shields, Hugh Brendan McKenna, Brian McKenna and his significant other, Susan Perry, Eileen McKenna-Hieb and her husband Michael, Patricia Pyatt and her husband Robert; grandchildren: Siobhan Brady, Meagan Brady, Brendan Patrick McKenna, Erin Hieb, Connor Pyatt and Liam Pyatt; sister, Kathleen McKeon and brother Joseph McKeon; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick in 2015.

Private graveside services will be held in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg, PA.
