of Vernon, NJ (formerly of Paterson, NJ) passed away at home on December 26, 2008. He was 85 years old.
Born on February 26, 1923 in Hoboken, NJ, he was the son of Matteo and Vittoria (Russo) DiMauro.
He was married to the late Marie (Lico) DiMauro (1990).
A World War II Army Air Corps veteran, Mr. DiMauro retired in 1985 as a Sales Representative with Thermo Electric, Saddle Brook, NJ. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Paterson Council #240, a member of the Msgr. Stein Assembly, 4th degree, past Grand Knight, former District Deputy, and past Faithful Navigator. He was a parishioner of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick. An accomplished woodworker and coin and stamp collecting enthusiast, he was a lover of crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Mr. DiMauro will be remembered as a true gentleman who loved God, family and his country.
He is survived by his son, James F. DiMauro and his wife Ruthann of Vernon, NJ; four grandchildren: James, Mary Catherine, Chris and John. He was predeceased by two sisters: Rose Robinson and Maggie DiMauro.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 30, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
