of Warwick (formerly of Flushing, Queens), passed away on June 16, 2010 at Westchester Medical Center. He was 78 years old.
Born on December 2, 1931 in New York City, he was the son of the late Francis and Gertrude Gibbons.
Mr. Gibbons served with the US Army during the Korean War. Before retiring, he was a Doorman with Waters Edge Apartments, Bayside, Queens. He was a parishioner of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Gibbons, of Warwick; two daughters: Mary McCracken and her husband Douglas of Wappinger Falls, and Kathleen Gibbons and her companion, John Naughton, of Wallkill; two grandchildren: Christopher and Jennifer McCracken. He was predeceased by a brother, Arnold Gibbons.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 19th, from 2:00-4:00 pm only, and on Sunday, June 20th, from 7:00-9:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Monday, June 21st, at St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick. Interment will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
