Alan T. Ryan of Vernon, NJ (formerly of Downsville, NY and Hawthorne, NJ) passed away on August 13, 2020 after a long illness. He was 81 years old.
Born in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of James and Florence Ryan.
Alan was a customer service representative for PSE&G in Paterson. In Downsville, NY, he was a current member of the American Legion, having served in the US Navy from 1957-1959 on the U.S.S. Essex.
Alan is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol; daughter, Cathy J. Foy of Vernon, NJ and Christine Hersh of Chico, CA and; sons, Alan T. and his wife Diane of Caldwell, NJ and Ron and his wife Kim of West Milford, NJ; eight grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and sister, Eileen Breur of Bradenton, FL.
Viewing will be on Friday, August 21, from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 7 to 9:00 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Burial with a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22 in Paige Cemetery, Downsville, NY.
