Solomon Williams

Solomon Williams, of Warwick, passed away on March 2, 2014 at St. Anthony Community Hospital.  He was 88 years old.

Born on December 1, 1925 in Latrobe, PA, he was the son of the late Rev. Paul Williams and Victoria (Bell) Williams.

He was married to Mildred (Moore) Williams for 51 years.

Solomon served with the US Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post #214, Warwick.  He was a Child Care Worker with the Division for Youth in Goshen and a member of the Civil Service Employees Association – CSEA.  He was a member of the Union AME Church in Warwick,  Rev. Kevin Taylor, Pastor, where he served as a trustee and usher and was a former steward.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Williams of Warwick; a daughter, La Verne Williams; a son, Kevin Williams and his wife Shawn;  three grandchildren:  Marcus Cunningham, Shayna Williams, and Kyle Williams;   two great-grandchildren: Kevin Richberg III and Kayden Richberg;  a sister, Pauline Alston; a brother-in-law, Nathaniel Moore; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Ford.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 8th, at Union AME Church, 98 McEwen St., Warwick. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Union AME Building Fund, PO Box 352, Warwick, NY 10990.
