David Gerard Cunningham, of Washingtonville, passed away on May 9, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 56 years old.
Born on December 18, 1957 in Rotunda Hospital, Dublin, Ireland, he was the son of the late Paul Cunningham and Carmel (Keogh) Cunningham.
He was married to Marie (Dolan ) Cunningham for 15 wonderful years.
He graduated Greenhills College in Dublin and started working for City Air Express in both Dublin and London, before emigrating to Queens, NY in 1996. In 2000, he went into partnership with James Delaney, a friend and soulmate for nearly 40 years.
A great and generous man, he loved life, family and friends and everyone he met. He was an avid golfer who loved playing spoons. He will be very greatly missed by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Cunningham of Washingtonville; his twin brother, Noel Cunningham; his sister Paula Reindhardt, brother-in-law Anthony Reindhardt, nephew Paul Reindhardt, nieces Rebecca Freeman and husband Oliver, Laura Reindhardt and Annmarie Reindhardt; great-niece Robyn; his sister Fiona Henderson, brother-in-law Colin Henderson, niece Charlotte Henderson; nephew Sean Henderson, niece Cara Henderson; his brother Gerard Cunningham; brother-in-law Vincent Dolan; brother-in-law Paul Dolan and his wife Mary and their children Collin and Lillie; brother-in-law Tony Dolan and his wife Carol..
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 13th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home,17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at St. Stephens Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, NY 10990 followed by interment in St. Stephens Cemetery.
