of Warwick, passed away on October 17, 2009 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. He was 83 years old.
Born on January 24, 1926 in Hillburn, NY, he was the son of the late Horace and Margaret Hicks Van Dunk.
He was married to Betty Maier Van Dunk.
Victor served with the US Army during World War II. He was a Plant Worker with Nepera Chemical Company in Harriman.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Van Dunk of Warwick; his stepchildren: John Mapes of Pine Island, Ronald Mapes of Goshen, Daniel Mapes of Monticello, Nancy Mapes of Middletown and Joann Hall of South Fallsburg; a grandson, Pauly, at home; seven additional grandchildren; a niece, Andrea (Peggy) Reynolds, of Warwick. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Zira Van Dunk in 1998.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in Warwick Cemetery.
