Kevin C. Mallon, of Warwick (formerly of Staten Island), passed away on August 3, 2012 at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He was 63 years old.
Born on May 12, 1949 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Aloysius G. and Florence E. (Van de Berghe) Mallon.
Kevin was a Battalion Chief with the New York City Fire Department. He directed the Warwick Soccer League from 1989-1997 and was instrumental in obtaining the soccer fields at Town Park. He was a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.
He is survived by his children: Kevin Mallon of Rahway, NJ, Scott Mallon of Middletown, NY, Jill Coppinger of East Islip, NY, and Corrie Cavanaugh of Jackson, NJ; eight grandchildren: Kate, Elijah, Jason, Rachel, Alison, Michael, Hailey and Brayden; the mother of his children, Laura Mallon, of Middletown; and two brothers, Michael Mallon of Sanibel Island, FL and Patrick Mallon of Smallwood, NY.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 5th, from 4-6 pm and Monday, August 6th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday at St. Stephens RC Church, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
