Rafael “Ralph” Santiago III, of Warwick, formerly of the Bronx, passed away on January 10, 2015 at St. Anthony Community Hospital, Warwick. He was 48 years old.
Born on January 8, 1967 in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of Perfecta Cruz Santiago and the late Rafael Santiago, Jr.
He was married to Sara (Melendez) Santiago.
Ralph was a retired New York City Police Department Sergeant of the Firearms and Tactics Sectional Outdoor Range, and was formerly assigned to the 50th Precinct Bureau, Housing Bureau and PSA 5. He was a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Santiago of Warwick; his mother, Perfecta Santiago of the Bronx; his daughter, Jennylynn Mendoza of Warwick; two sons: Rafael Santiago IV of Warwick and Matthew Ryan Santiago of Warwick; and a granddaughter, Jaela Artache.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 14th, from 2:00-9:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Thursday at St. Stephens RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, NY, followed by private cremation.
