Frederick Areizaga

of Warwick, and a long time resident of the area, died on February 7, 2007 at Schervier Pavilion.  He was 76 years old. 

 

Born on January 5, 1931 in New York, New York, he was the son of John Sanchez and Anna Olynick. 

 

Mr. Areizaga was a Marine veteran of the Korean War.  He was an Architectural Hardware Consultant with Allied Steel, Miami, Florida and was a member of the Architectural Hardware Consultant Institute. 

 

A family statement reads: “He loved life, his grandchildren and his animals.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.”

 

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Graf and her husband Johann of Warwick;  a son, John Michael Areizaga of Hurley;  a sister, Loretta Luizer of Astoria, NY;  three grandchildren:  Michael Areizaga, Jr., Anya Graf and Rennic Graf;  his former spouse, Auguste Areizaga, of Warwick.  He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Fredericka Graf. 

 

Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
