, passed away on January 1, 2009 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Warwick, New York. He was 85 years old.
Born on April 10, 1923 in Singers Glen, Virginia, he was the son of the late Charles Hopkins Bridges and Myrtle Beulah Keister.
He married the late Margaret Pauline (Fries) Bridges on June 15, 1942.
Mr. Bridges served with the U. S. Army from 1946-47. He was a Salesman with Taylor Publishing Company in College Park, MD, and retired to Fulks Run, VA and worked part time at the Harrisonburg Auto Auction. He loved gardening and was a lifetime member of the King David Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, Washington, DC.
He is survived by his daughter, Bettina Hutchinson and her husband David of Warwick; two grandchildren: Ashley Lauren Hutchinson and Kyle David Hutchinson; a sister, Edith Bridges and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was private and a graveside service will be held in Herwin Chapel Cemetery, Linville, Virginia in the family plot at a later date.
