Maureen A. Martin (nee O’Rourke) of Warwick, NY, died suddenly on June 1, 2012 after a brief illness. She was 76 years old.
Affectionately known as “Nanny Moe”, she was born on January 29, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY to Marion and John O’Rourke.
Maureen was formerly an Operator with New Jersey Bell, Wayne, NJ. She was a part-time aide at St. Anthony’s Community Hospital, a parishioner of St. Stephens RC Church, and a former member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians.
A beloved mother, she leaves behind her four children and their spouses: Kevin and Mary Anne Martin, Claire and Rob Robinson, Theresa and Ron Pustelniak and Margaret and John Wulff. Cherished grandmother of Michael, John, Kevin, Casey, Scott, Kathryn, Erin, Kelly, Sara, Kiersten, Alex and Isabelle. She also leaves behind her brothers: Patrick O’Rourke, John O’Rourke and his wife Ann; a sister, Joan Banahan and her husband Edward. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 4th, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday at St. Stephens RC Church. Private cremation.
