of Pine Island, (formerly of Yorktown Heights), passed away at home on November 19, 2008. She was 50 years old.
Born on March 19, 1958 in Yonkers, New York, she was the daughter of Margaret Kerr Clark and the late Oliver Harvey Clark.
Mrs. D’Ancona was a Teacher’s Assistant at Sanfordville School in Warwick. She raised 12 dogs for the Seeing Eye Institute in Morristown, NJ.
Pam had a kind and generous soul. When she entered a room, you could feel a spirit of beauty and an absolute love of life. Throughout her life, she gave her heart and soul to the people and animals around her. Her mission was to take care of her family and friends, and it seemed like that circle grew a little bit every day. Her co-workers, the friends of her children, people on line at the grocery store…she treated everyone she met with respect and compassion. Pam will be missed by those she left behind, and our hearts ache for those who never had the honor of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband, Julien D’Ancona, of Pine Island; a son, Christopher D’Ancona of Buffalo, NY; a daughter, Stephanie D’Ancona of Queens, NY; a son, Nicholas, of Pine Island, NY; her mother, Margaret Clark, of Yorktown, NY; a brother, Edward Clark of Croton on Hudson, NY; a sister, Margaret Elias, of Okemos, Michigan; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 21st, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Orange County, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
