Gloria S. Duncan, a former longtime resident of Yonkers, NY, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015, at her home in Toms River, NJ. She was 89 years old.
Gloria was born in Yonkers on December 8, 1925 to Dr. William and Rose Shanley.
She attended Blessed Sacrament School in Yonkers and graduated from the Scarborough School in Scarborough, NY.
For many years, Gloria was employed in the banking industry as Assistant Manager at National Westminster Bank.
Her family, the Shanleys and Freisingers, had deep roots in Orange County farm country for many years.
She is survived by her sister, Muriel J. (Betty) Baker, formerly of Yonkers, with whom she shared a home in Toms River. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis, in 1983 and her brother, William Shanley, in 1999.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 6th, from 9:30am-10:30am at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Stephen RC Church, with interment in St. Stephen Cemetery.
