Bernard J. Shuback

of Pine Island, passed away on December 30, 2009 at Schervier Pavilion.  He was 73 years old.

 

Born on February 11, 1936 in Goshen, NY, he was one of fourteen children of the  late Joseph and Rose (Rutkowski) Shuback.

 

Mr. Shuback was a farmer and the owner of Shuback Farm in Goshen.  He was a member of St. Stanislaus R.C. Church, Pine Island.  An avid card player, he played cards every Wednesday afternoon at the American Legion Hall in Pine Island.  He also enjoyed spending time with his large extended family , especially his niece, Doris Tomczak, and his many friends.

He is survived by his children:  David Shuback  and his companion, Susan Hughes, of Slate Hill, NY, Susan Shuback and Greg Burkart of Bethesda, MD, and Tracy Trollinger and her husband Jim Conroy of Unionville, NY; seven grandchildren:  Danielle, Amanda, Zachary, Adam, Joseph, Christopher and Peter;  his sisters:  Theresa Bogdanski of Pine Island, Elizabeth Milukski of Pine Island,  and Carolyn Fremgen of Newburgh;   his brothers:  Raymond Shuback of Pine Island,George Shuback of Chester, Edmund Shuback of Florida, NY and Mickey Shuback of Goshen, NY; brother-in-law, Albert Knapp of Poughkeepsie, NY.  He was predeceased by his siblings:  Anna Knapp, Louis Shuback, Albert Shuback, Joseph Shuback, and Violet Shuback, and his son-in-law, Ken Trollinger.

 

Visitation will be on Friday, January 1, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 2nd, at St. Stanislaus RC Church, Pulaski Highway, Pine Island.  Cremation will be private.
