
Ellen M. Sheffield, of Greenwood Lake (formerly of NYC), passed away at home on May 21, 2016. She was 69 years old.
Born on January 13, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Shirley Hochberg.
She was married to David Sheffield.
Ellen was formerly the Black and White Picture Editor and then the Chief Billing, Invoice & Picture Editor with Woodfin Camp and Associates, NYC. She then was the Associate Editor for the Greenwood Lake/West Milford News. She loved being a part of the Greenwood Lake community and was an active volunteer with the Greenwood Lake Food Pantry, where she was formerly the secretary. She served on the Greenwood Lake PTA as former president and she was a member of the East Arm Rowing Club in Greenwood Lake, where until recently she served as secretary. She was a former member of Congregation B’nai Torah in Greenwood Lake.
She is survived by her husband, David Sheffield of Greenwood Lake; her son Bryan Sheffield and his wife Deanna of Austin, TX and her son Morgan Sheffield of Portland, OR; four grandchildren: Emily, Harrison, Jonathan and Catherine; and a sister, Phyllis Hochberg and her husband Stuart Katz of Philadelphia, PA.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 24th, from 12:00-1:30 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm. Interment in Warwick Cemetery.
