Frederick Michael Albers, of Warwick, passed away on March 3, 2016 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. He was 78 years old.
Born on August 15, 1937 in Massillon, Ohio, he was the son of the late Frederick Paul and Catherine (Conn) Albers.
He was married to Joan H. (Canale) Albers.
Before retiring in 1994, Frederick was an Executive Vice President of Building Operations for Bankers Trust, New York.
After retirement, he designed and supervised construction of his dream home in rural Warwick. Among his many interests were reading, organic gardening, architectural planning and motor trips with his wife Joan. He loved sports and was an avid Giants and Yankees fan. He was proud of his koi pond.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Albers of Warwick; his children: Suzanne Albers of Pine Bush, NY, Michael Albers and his wife Emily of Highland, NY, Stephanie Leonhirth and her husband Michael of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and Catherine Lynch and her husband Eugene of Silver Spring, MD; seven grandchildren: Lauren Rodriguez, Jennifer Rodriguez, Justin Terracina, Cameron Leonhirth, Avery Leonhirth, Cameron Albers and Dominic Albers; one great-grandchild, Athena Faye Towers; his brothers: William Albers and his wife Pamela of Peoria, IL and Steven C. Albers and his wife Roberta of Gaithersburg, MD; his sisters: Catherine Hargreaves and her husband Dennis of Ponte Vedra, FL, and Roberta Woods and her husband Gerald of Gainesville, FL.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 7th, from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Warwick Cemetery.
