Mildred "Billie" G. Laroe, of Sugar Loaf, passed away on April 11, 2013 at Schervier Pavilion. She was 89 years old.
Born on March 6, 1924 in Goshen, NY, she was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Fred Glass. She graduated from Vassar Brothers Hospital Nursing School and worked as an RN before marrying Mark Laroe and moving to Sugar Loaf, where she helped him run the family business and raise four children.
A homemaker, Mildred was a member of the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church, the Sugar Loaf Craft group, the Warwick Quilters, and the Friends of the Library.
She is survived by her children: Steve Laroe and his wife Mary of Fairbanks, Alaska, Kathy Laroe of Taos, New Mexico, John Laroe and his wife Fran of Sugar Loaf, and Mark Laroe and his wife Susan of Sugar Loaf; eight beloved grandchildren: Jordan, Debra, Michelle, Nicole, Christina, Jake, Matthew and Daniel; and three great-grandchildren: Naomi, Abigail and Noah.. She is also survived by a sister, Alice Swanwick of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a brother, Fred Glass of Bridgewater, New Jersey.
