Kathy Lynn Cherry, of Walden, NY and formerly of Mahwah, NJ passed away on February 26, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer at Kaplan Family Hospice, Newburgh, NY.  She was 69 years old.

Born on October 27, 1953, in Martinsville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Mack and Jean (nee Georgalas) Earles.

Kathy was an internet manager for M. Rothman of Ramsey, NJ at her retirement but had owned a number of businesses including Interstate Tire, Crossroads Deli and Cherry’s Bar and Grill.

She is survived by her husband Lawrence “Larry” Cherry of Walden, NY; sons Ryan Patrick Cherry of Walden, NY, Matthew Cherry of Walden, NY, and Richard Avino of Totowa, NJ;  granddaughter Evelyn Michelle Cherry of Walden, NY; sisters Helene Georgalas of New Windsor, NY, Kim Georgalas of Clifton, NJ, and brother David Georgalas of Clifton, NJ; step-father Sherwin Georgalas of Clifton, NJ

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY.  Interment will follow at Warwick Cemetery.
