(nee Wilhelm) of Warwick, passed away on December 7, 2010. She was 93 years old.
Born on April 3, 1917 in Edenville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Rudy) Wilhelm.
She was married to the late Peter Ochs (1999).
A homemaker, Amelia was a member of Pine Island Bible Church.
A family statement reads: “Amelia is best remembered for working with and caring for her husband Peter at Ochs Orchard. A devoted church member at Pine Island Bible Church, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her sparkling smile will be greatly missed.”
Predeceased by a son, Leslie Ochs, in 1994, she is survived by a daughter-in-law, Susan Kay Ochs; her son, Peter C. Ochs of Orwell, VT; six grandchildren: Alan Ochs, Janice Williams, Peter W. Ochs, Elke Ochs, Ruth Ochs and Walter Ochs; six great-grandchildren: Jessie, Amy, Riley, Gabrielle, Sebastian and Krystian; three sisters: Lena Langlitz, Minnie Youngman and Louise Daubert. She was preceded in death by sisters Helen Martin and Ester Felker, and brothers William, Henry, Peter and Alec Wilhelm.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 9th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday at Pine Island Bible Church, 9 Little Brooklyn Road, Warwick. Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
