., of Warwick, passed away on June 28, 2009 at Arden Hill Hospital.  He was 75 years old.

Born on August 6, 1933 in Goshen, he was the son of the late Edgar S. Quackenbush and Sybil Lucha.

He was married to Marilyn (Hunt) Quackenbush.

A self employed dairy farmer, he was a member of the Warwick Rod & Gun Club.

A family statement reads:  “Elrae was devoted to his family and loved the land and animals as much as they loved him.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.”

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his children:  Rhonda and Michael Holt of Warwick; Edgar, Jr. and Sharon Quackenbush of Goshen; Penny and Joseph Marino of Boca Raton, FL;  also,  Alice Kelly and her husband Joseph, and Wayne Stevens and his wife Catherine, whom he helped raise as a daughter and son.  He is also survived by his grandchildren:  Michael and Jason Holt;  step-granddaughter Brittney Sienkwicz; grandchildren:  Kelby and Ryan Quackenbush, Jessica and Samantha Marino.  He was predeceased by a granddaughter,  Tasia Marie Quackenbush.  Also survived by three sisters:  Barbara Barber of Warwick, Bonnie and Jack Freda of Warwick, and Sandra and Ronald Sisco, of New Smyrna Beach, FL; a brother, James and Hazel Quackenbush of Warwick; several nieces and nephews, and his favorite dog, Cuddles.
