of Warwick, passed away on January 20, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. He was 82 years old.
Born on February 12, 1928 in Oranmore County Galway, Ireland, he was the son of John and Margaret (Ruane) Fahy.
He was married to Ellen “Nellie” A. (Solan) Fahy for 57 years.
Mr. Fahy was a Railroad Conductor with Metro North for 37 years. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member and past Commander of Warwick VFW, Post #214 in Warwick, a member of American Legion, Warwick, a member and past President of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 3, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. Stephens RC Church, where he was a dedicated volunteer.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Fahy, of Warwick; his sons: John T. Fahy of Rochester, NY and Michael Fahy and his wife Alice of Pleasanton, CA; his daughters: Ann M. Sewall and her husband Bruce of Maybrook and Ellen M. Glebocki and her husband Dale of Slate Hill; seven grandchildren: Valerie, Michael, Elizabeth, Mary, Colleen, Claire and Lynne; a sister, Peggy Costello of Galway, Ireland. He was predeceased by five sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 25th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, followed by interment in St. Stephens Cemetery.
