Joan A. Joyce, of Warwick (formerly of Rock Hill, NY), passed away on December 4, 2015. She was 83 years old.
Born on October 9, 1932 in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Mullins) Newcombe.
She was married to James Joyce.
A self-employed vocalist, her passion was her music and she volunteered as a vocalist in area Orange County nursing homes. Her joy in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James of Warwick; her five sons: Brian Joyce and his wife Barbara of Bergenfield, NJ, Kenneth Joyce and his wife Barbara of Wurtsboro, NY, James T. Joyce and his wife Kathleen of Warwick, NY, Michael Joyce and his wife Helen of Bloomfield, NJ, and Glenn Joyce of the Bronx and Colleen of Warwick, NY; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Martin Newcombe of Whiting, NJ and Richard Newcombe of Louisville, KY. She was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Joyce.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 6th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Monday at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Rd., Warwick, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 419 E.
