Kenneth Kovatch, of Warwick, returned to the loving arms of our Lord on August 16, 2017 at St. Anthony Community Hospital. He was 80 years old.
Born on March 16, 1937 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Andrew and Madeline (Schwab) Kovatch.
He was married for 54 years to Edith (Niedworok) Kovatch.
Before retiring, Kenneth was a Machine Operator with Louis Hornick & Company in Haverstraw, NY, He enjoyed boxing, having boxed in his younger years, loved fishing, 50’s music, flea markets and garage sales.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Anthony Community Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care for their loved one.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Kovatch of Warwick; his daughter, Karen Vermillion and her husband Michael of Warwick; sons: Kenneth P. Kovatch, Jr. of Otisville, NY and Kevin Kovatch of Daytona Beach, FL; grandchildren: David Schermerhorn, and Rachel Schermerhorn and partner Eric Williams; great-granddaughter Madison Williams; a sister, Joan Brothers and husband Raye of NC; a brother, John Kovatch of FL; a sister-in-law, Janie Dios and husband Robert; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 18th, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
